Mary R. (Petrak) Iwanski, 84, of Tarentum, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 26, 2013, after becoming ill at home. She was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Tarentum, daughter of Bernard and Katherine (Altman) Petrak. She lived in Tarentum all of her life. Mary was a 1946 graduate of Tarentum High School and worked in the general office at PPG Creighton for 30 years. She took great pride in her volunteer work with meals on wheels and enjoyed attending services at Holy Martyrs Church of Tarentum. Mary was the beloved wife of Edward H. Iwanski for 43 years. She is also survived by sisters, Alma Pryzbuyz, of West Virginia, Dorothy (Kenneth) Miller, of Florida, and Leona Barnett, of Baltimore, Md. She also had several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by sisters, Marcella Ruscillo, Catherine McGough and brother, Bernard Petrak. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 10th Ave. at Corbet St., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. A blessing service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 29, by her pastor, Rev. Aaron J. Kriss, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum.
